USO Calling CardServing your country in the military is a very noble endeavor. Being away from your family and friends while serving is a gigantic sacrifice and there is no better feeling than to speak to those at home during a break in their duties where ever that may be. Dave Tipton, broker and manager of Florida’s Beautiful Homes- Realtors, said “This project was a natural fit for us. First off we have tremendous respect for those who defend and protect our country and second, we have met and helped numerous military families relocate to the Tampa Bay area and we feel a very close connection to them”. continue reading…

As the Baby Boomers approach retirement age it probably should surprise no one that one out of every four people in the U.S. is a grandparent. Wait, let me say that another way, 25% of everyone in the U.S. is a grand Parent!  This number, 70 million, is more than the number of people in France, and it’s twice the population of California. Today’s grandparents aren’t like our grandparents, we active and energetic. The average age is 48, and many of them are participating in activities from running marathons to dating on line.

As a group, grandparents’ have a huge impact on the U.S. economy, we spend around 50 billion dollars on our grandkids each year. That’s more than the music industry, film industry and video game industry revenues combined. continue reading…

In an apparent move to support market stability and reinforce the importance of borrowers working with their lending institutions when they have difficulty repaying their debt, Fannie Mae has updated several policies regarding borrowers’ future eligibility to obtain a new mortgage loan after experiencing what they call a pre-foreclosure event, including a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, pre-foreclosure sale, or short sale.

Under these new policies, Fannie Mae is changing the waiting period required for a borrower to be eligible for a mortgage loan after a pre-foreclosure event. The waiting period, which commences on the completion date of the pre-foreclosure event, may now vary on the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio for the transaction, occupancy of the property, and whether extenuating circumstances played a part in the borrower’s inability to pay his or her mortgage.  continue reading…

I consider myself an “old school” real estate agent, I started in 1985. I have seen numerous changes in the real estate industry over the years. Many of the changes had been in regard to license law, but since the mortgage melt down starting in 2006 and the eventual across the board financial difficulties our country has experienced, major changes have started to take place in the entire real estate industry. This evolution is not over but is changing as we speak. continue reading…

I feel as if I have personally been slapped in the face and challenged to a dual.  It’s nothing that exciting or life altering.

We have been challenged to blog for 30 days in a row starting today April 1st.  Our challenger will remain nameless for the time being. No, this is not an April Fools Day prank. The challenge will end May 1st. I love a good challenge.  Normally we blog about 2 to 3 times per week, but for the next 30 days, we will blog everyday.  I’m normally a believer of quality over quantity. That means that not only will we increase our quantity but we will be on the hook to maintain our quality as well.

If you have any topics that you would like to see covered during this 30 day marathon, please be so kind as to forward those topics or questions to us. I think I’m out of breath already, but here we go. This does not preclude us at Florida’s Beautiful Homes from using our normal guest bloggers which we fully intend to utilize during the next 30 days. Please stay tuned for the next in the series of 30 in a row.
